Saturday 27th June 2009
As part of the Barbican’s Blaze programme and the national Cuba50 festival, a range of contemporary Cuban music styles were represented on Gillett Square with performances from Son del Tropico, Yoruba Andabo and Changűί de Guantánamo. The event attracted audiences of over 3000 people throughout the day. Neighbouring Bradbury Street was closed to extend the festival atmosphere into the surrounding area and to benefit local businesses in the neighbourhood.
This event was produced by the Barbican and Gillett Squared with support from Hackney Council.
